Iraqi Children’s Song

Hello,

One of the purposes of The Natalie Twigg Music Foundation is to connect and unite children internationally. This Iraqi Children’s Song Project has been created to hopefully achieve this.

I found two beautiful traditional children’s songs from Iraq and arranged them for students at Shawnee Mission North High School and my 6 piece jazz/world fusion ensemble, Aurora Consort.

We have dedicated the performances and recordings of the songs to the children in Iraq. With these two Iraqi songs, “Baleyya Balbool” and “Ya Teir” we also included an english song that I wrote called “Water to Wine”. It is our hope that some children in Iraq and other Arabic speaking countries may hear our songs and that one day they may sing them together.

Please enjoy the recordings, pictures and interviews below. Feel free to forward this project to your friends.

We would love to hear from you if you are able to reach some Iraqi and/or Arabic speaking children. We would be more than happy to send a DVD/CD or a format where by they can enjoy our project.

Thank you for listening!

Yours Sincerely,

Natalie Twigg
